The Planning Commission gets young blood |
September 18 2011 |
Once called an old-age home, the Planning Commission is all set to change its look and feel. This is a sign that in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress will enter the arena under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. And since the Planning Commission is working on its 12th Five Year Plan (2012-17) and wants to incorporate youth’s ambitions and sentiments and make them more real, the Yojana Bhavan has recruited young people between 20-30 years of age as consultants. Not only has the plan got a sanction from the Planning Commission’s Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, but the State Planning Minister Ashwini Kumar can be seen being proactive and generous with the plan. So much so that the Yojana Bhavan now even has a special parking space with a board that says: Only for young professionals. |
