इस बार धूम धड़ाके के साथ कांग्रेस की सीडब्ल्यूसी की बैठक हैदराबाद में आहूत हो रही है, जिसमें कांग्रेस के कोई 90 महत्वपूर्ण नेता हिस्सा ले रहे हैं, जिसमें कांग्रेस शासित प्रदेशों के चारों मुख्यमंत्री भी शामिल हैं। इस बैठक में राहुल गांधी की भारत जोड़ो यात्रा के दूसरे चरण व पांच राज्यों के आगामी विधानसभा चुनावों को लेकर चर्चा हो रही है। विपक्षी महागठबंधन इंडिया बनने के बाद कांग्रेस की यह पहली बैठक है। पर इस बैठक से कांग्रेस के 6 प्रमुख नेताओं का गैर हाजिरी रहना, नेपथ्य के सन्नाटों को झंकृत करता है। पवन बंसल या एके एंटोनी जैसे वरिष्ठ नेताओं ने भले ही अपने स्वास्थ्यगत कारणों का हवाला देते हुए बैठक में आने में आने असमर्थता जता दी हो, पर सब जानते हैं कि एंटोनी अपने पुत्र अनिल एंटोनी के भाजपा ज्वॉइन करने से असहज हैं, जूनियर एंटोनी इन दिनों बड़ी तन्मयता से कांग्रेस विरोध की अलख जगा रहे हैं, वहीं पवन बंसल व कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष खड़गे के दरम्यान तलवारें तनी है और बंसल की कुर्सी जाने का खतरा लगातार उनके सिर मंडरा रहा है।

Just when the meeting of the opposition unit was about to begin, AAP gave its rant that ‘the one who is with us on the ordinance is with democracy and the one who is not with it, is anti-democracy.’ When a five-member delegation of AAP, headed by two CMs Kejriwal and Maan, reached Patna, Congress President Kharge gave a terse reply that ‘the ordinance should be talked about in Parliament and not on public forums.’ Hearing Kharge’s words, there was so much disappointment in the AAP camp that the party delegation, which had to take a flight to Delhi at 4.30 pm, instead chose to catch the afternoon flight at 1.30 pm even before united opposition’s press conference. On the other hand, while Rahul Gandhi’s flight was at 2:30, Rahul sat in the press conference till the end.

There is calm before the coming storm in Maharashtra politics, Eknath Shinde has sensed his departure. At present, posters of Ajit Pawar have been put up everywhere in Mumbai as the future CM. In Nagpur the face of Devendra Fadnavis is pasted on the posters of the future CM. Recently, Shinde made a major reshuffle in the state’s bureaucracy without consulting BJP and Fadnavis. 27 IPS officers including Panvel civic chief have been transferred and Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis was not even aware of this. That’s why there is every possibility of leadership change in Maharashtra, although everything is still under the complete control of the BJP high command.

There has been controversy over Rahul Gandhi’s speech in London, while Rahul met his party president Mallikarjun Kharge before going to London. Kharge told Rahul that ‘when he returns from London to Delhi after three-four days, then he will send a few leaders, from states where elections are to be held, to meet Rahul.’ However, Rahul’s response stunned Kharge as the Gandhi scion said, “I will come back later. You know that even a good car has to be sent for servicing after 3 months.”
The shadow of uncertainty is hovering over the Raipur session of Congress. Earlier this 85th session of Congress was called in Raipur for three days i.e. from 24 to 26 February. Now it is believed that instead of 24, the session will start on 25 and end on 26. Everyone’s eyes were fixed on this conference because after 26 years the elections of the Congress Working Committee were to be held. But now it is believed that this CWC election will be postponed and party president Mallikarjun Kharge will be authorized to elect a representative for the working committee by show of hands, which he will decide after returning to Delhi. Of the 23 members of the Congress Working Committee, 12 were to be elected by the AICC delegates, and 11 were to be nominated by the President. But it seems that there will be no election now, because there are indications of irregularities in the AICC list as well. Differences have been found in the list of about 1300 AICC representatives from 29 states and union territories and the list provided by the PCC, raising questions about the role of Madhusudan Mistry and VP Singh of the election committee, who have included the names of their favorite people in the list. More or less similar errors were also seen in the list of delegates during the election of the party President as well.
