IB eyes journalists

Posted on 23 January 2013 by admin

The IB is keeping an eye on eight to 10 such journalists with whom the Pakistani embassy is constantly in touch with. Of these, two are women who are working with an English news channel and are known for their aggressive journalism. The IB suspects that these journalists are more interested in showing the Pakistani point of view. So, they try to openly show Pakistan’s point of view through talk shows and news reporting. In the beginning the Pakistani embassy would stay in touch with them over email but when they were monitored, the embassy resorted to use courier companies. As a rule, these journalists get the point of view Pakistan wants. It is possible that in the days to come, some big journalists may trouble brewing for them.

Pak waiting

To attend Modi’s “Vibrant Gujarat” program, a delegation of businessmen from Karachi had come to Ahmedabad. They had come looking for investment and business opportunities in Gujarat and were to participate in a program in the “Vibrant Gujarat”. But the way tension has escalated at the Indian Pakistan LoC, Modi’s managers asked the Pakistani businessmen to stay put at their hotel. Modi’s strategists believe that the time is not right for Pakistani investment to come to Gujarat. Now the Pakistani businessmen want to know if that was the reason, why had they been invited in the first place? Modi’s managers tried to tell them that the invitations had been sent out when across-the-border firing had not taken place.

Derek’s dilemma

Posted on 26 December 2012 by admin

A few days ago, CPM’s Lok Sabha Parliamentarian Ramchandra Dom received a lovely Christmas cake, which was sent by Trinamul’s Rajya Sabha member and Didi’s dear Derek O’Brian. The next day when the CPM’s party leader reached Central Hall, he spoke about it to other colleagues and praised Brian, and a couple of journalists were seen lurking around sniffing for news. The moment Derek found out about it, he became alert and tried to ensure the news does not reach Mamata Banerjee. So in his own defense, he started to say that he knew of no such cake that was sent to the CPM party member. This is done by his company, which sends more than 5,000 cakes as compliments to people. By mistake, one of the cakes may have reached the CPM Parliamentarian.

Channel scared of ghosts

Posted on 20 December 2012 by admin

Despite all modern technology, a tez channel is recently shivering from ghosts. Initially, the channel’s office was located in New Delhi’s Jhandewalan area. Then it was shifted to an ultra-modern building in Noida. The land where the channel’s studio and office is located was once owned by late director Yash Chopra. No sooner has the channel shifted into its new office in Noida, than a fire broke out due to a short circuit and the fire was somehow brought under control. Then one day, the office’s false ceiling suddenly came crashing down. Journalists and other officials working in the channel often complain that when they go to the basement to park their cars, a hand swaying in the wind slaps them from nowhere. People are saying the place is haunted and the channel is aggressively trying to get rid of the ghosts. Several exorcists, ojhas and tantriks are being called to address the issue and havans are taking place day and night. There is smoke everywhere, which leads one to believe there has to be a fire somewhere.

The ball in Congress’ court

Posted on 20 December 2012 by admin

Mayavati has lived upto her promise of friendship and now it’s the Congress turn. Will the Congress floor manage to pass the SC-ST Bill, one that is a matter of honour for Mayavati. To pass the bill, not only does there need to be a constitutional amendment, but there needs to be a two-third majority for the bill to be passed. The Samajwadi Party is opposed to the bill. Once bitten, twice shy, the BJP doesn’t want to make the same mistake. Meanwhile, it is the real test for Kamal Nath and his team.

The lotus party angry with Kamal Nath

Posted on 28 November 2012 by admin

Questions are being raised about the new Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath. Considering the current Parliamentary session, the Congress is frowning about Nath’s floor management. So much so that even the BJP is said to be miffed with Nath’s high-handed attitude. To ensure that the Parliament functions smoothly, he spoke to a prominent BJP leader about the same. The BJP leader was so upset with the tone and tenor of Nath’s voice that he actually called up Sonia Gandhi and complained about the minister. Either Kamal Nath changes his attitude or Manmohan his minister.

AP in a spot

Posted on 28 November 2012 by admin

Former CBI Director A P Singh may see his worried grow. It was almost sure he will join the Indian Human Right Commission (NHRC) after retirement. He was also getting assured by the government for the same. Maybe that was one reason he did not let go off the bungalow he had been allotted in Lutyen’s zone as the CBI director; since he will become the NHRC director, he may as well continue living there. It is believed that keeping in mind the BJP’s stand against A P Singh at NHRC, S C Sinha may take the post. It is worth mentioning here that this is the same S C Sinha who lost the CBI director race from Ranjit Sinha. For now, there is likelihood that A P Singh will be sent to UPSC as a member.
