Will Uddhav come back to the ‘old house’? |

One thing that can be said with certainty about politics is that neither are there ‘all-weather’ friends nor enmity is kept forever. Perhaps this was the reason why in his Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park, where Uddhav Thackeray was cursing the BJP in his fervent address on October 5, sources reveal that on the occasion of Navratri, Uddhav’s wife Rashmi Thackeray and Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis have held a meeting at a well known Mumbai based businessman’s residence. If sources are to be believed, Fadnavis is constantly trying to make a deal between the BJP and Uddhav’s Shiv Sena once again in Maharashtra. It is said that this Navratri party was organized by the businessman’s wife, since Uddhav’s wife Rashmi Thackeray is one of her integral friends, so an invitation had already been sent to her. Inviting Devendra Fadnavis to the event, the business family had told him that ‘Rashmi is also going to come.’ And this meeting of Rashmi Thackeray and Devendra Fadnavis lasted for one and a half hours. According to sources, Fadnavis told Rashmi that ‘if your Shiv Sena gives up its claim for the post of CM, then we can come together again. You can also get the benefit of this in BMC elections.” Fadnavis further said that ‘Aditya Thackeray will be given full respect in this alliance, but we should avoid personal attacks on each other’. It is said that Rashmi asked Fadnavis if his plans had the support of the central leadership and if it happens, what will you do with Eknath Shinde?’ To this Fadnavis said, “Shinde is our problem. Leave him to us. He has MLAs which you don’t have.” Rashmi has promised Fadnavis that she will speak to Uddhav about this and a promise has also been made to meet again, that is, the doors of new possibilities have been opened. |
